Dear Sierra Vista Families,
Welcome! I am so excited to be teaching Kindergarten at Sierra Vista for my third year. I have been teaching for 18 years. I taught in Oakland for 7 years and 11 years in Vacaville. I am so proud to be a Vacaville educator because I attended Vacaville Unified myself! I attended Sierra Vista for elementary, Vaca Pena for middle school, and Will C. Wood for high school! I attended UC Santa Barbara for my Bachelor’s degree, where I majored in psychology and minored in education. I also received my Master's in Education from UC Davis. I have a wonderful husband of 12 years, and we have two amazing children who both attend Sierra Vista as well! Brody is in 6th grade, and Charlotte is in 4th grade. As a family, we love camping, traveling, and our sweet black lab named Bear.
I am passionate about all things learning! I love planning lessons that are engaging and interactive for my students. I hold high expectations for my class while also making learning fun! I believe that families play a pivotal role in their child’s academic success, and when we work together as a team, students can reach their full potential. My class truly becomes a class family through morning meetings, social-emotional learning, and a positive and inclusive classroom community.
