Hark! Sierra Vista families,
Hail and well met! My name is Christian Villamea and I am your English 7 + AVID 7 instructor. I was born in 1997 (placing me at the upper cusp of Gen Z; how skibidi, very aura, so on and so forth) in sunny San Diego, and in time, I would stop being a baby, grow up, and proceed to study Education Sciences (with a Specialization in Digital Media and Technology) and Psychology & Social Behavior at the University of California, Irvine. After receiving my BA’s, I moved north and attended the University of California, Davis for my teaching credential and Master of Arts in Teaching.
This is my third year teaching at Sierra Vista, and I can’t imagine a better place to work! In my opinion, “English” is a misleading and impractical term for what we do in the classroom. Your scholars will be trained in rhetoric (identifying, analyzing, and creating arguments) and composition (making your argument easy to read and understand), all built on a foundation of critical thinking (the classic Six W’s: Who? What? When? Where? Why? WHow?).
In my spare time, you can catch me reading, writing, playing guitar, cooking, and especially playing video games. I hope we can work together to foster your scholars into being the best people they can be!
Warm regards,
Mr. V
