MEET MS. CRUZ
Hello Sierra Vista families,
My name is Ariela Cruz and I am so excited to return as Sierra Vista's 7th grade Math teacher for the 2023-2024 school year. This is my seventh year in education and I've had the opportunity to spend 6/7 of my years teaching Mathematics. I am also very excited to have the opportunity to be the Choir teacher this year as well. We will sing our way to success!
In 2016, I graduated from CSU Chico with a Bachelor's in Liberal Studies and a concentration in Mathematics. In 2017, I completed the CSUC Multiple Subject credential program.
Someone once said, " Mathematics is not only for solving numbers. It's also for dividing sorrow, subtracting sadness, adding happiness, and multiplying love and forgiveness." I love this quote because along with teaching our students Math, I hope to teach/remind them of the importance of creating not only a classroom but also a world filled with hope, respect, and resilience. In addition, I believe that a Math class should be filled with collaboration, hard work, joy, hands on experiences, mistakes, solutions, diverse thought, and growth!
Outside of the classroom, I love to create memories with family/ friends, read books, sing, swim, camp, travel, go to church, and spend time in nature.
