Dear Sierra Vista Families,
My name is Angelo Marubayashi, and I am excited to teach 2nd grade this year. I have been teaching since 2007, and I have spent many years working with 2nd and 3rd grade students. These are my favorite grades to teach. I am happy to return to 2nd grade, where I can share my love of reading, math, and writing with the class. I also enjoy introducing students to art, readers’ theatre, and computer projects.
I grew up on a small farm near Winters, where I spent time working and learning about computers. I went to UC Santa Cruz for my undergraduate studies in Film and Digital Media. I stayed there to earn my teaching credential and master’s degree. My family still lives in Winters, and I enjoy visiting the farm to spend time outdoors.
Outside of teaching, I like cooking, reading, playing video games, and riding my electric bicycle. I also love spending time with my nieces, who are both still in elementary.
I believe every student can learn and grow. I strive to create a positive, supportive classroom where students feel encouraged to do their best. Learning is a lifelong journey, and I am excited to be part of it with your children this year.
