MEET MR. PALMER
Hello, SV Community!
I'm Mr. Palmer and I'm entering my 4th year here at Sierra Vista. After teaching middle school in FSUSD for 8 years, I made the move to VUSD prior to the 2022-23 school year and truly found my home teaching 6th grade here. Over the past 11 years, I have taught a little bit of everything but the one constant has always been math. Most important to me are the relationships that I have built with students and their families over the years, so I'm excited to see what my 12th year of teaching brings as the 6th grade math/science teacher.
I attended California State University, Sacramento for both my bachelor's degree and my teaching credential. I met my wife there and we moved to Vacaville after graduating. Since then, we have started a family and I adore my two kids with all my heart.
Outside of teaching and spending time with my family. Sports are a big part of my life, especially swimming. I was a swim coach in the Sacramento area during my high school and college years which is ultimately what led me to the world of teaching. Kids truly are the best and I can't imagine spending my life any other way. I also adore games of all kinds and I'm generally a very competitive person (you may have seen some of my competitiveness if you watched BLUE TEAM during sport-o-rama!)
To past, present, and future students/families, don't ever hesitate to reach out if you need anything. I am excited to continue establishing myself and making memories here at Sierra Vista.
