MEET MRS. HENRY
Sierra Vista Grizzly families,
I am Toni Salcido-Henry and I am proud to be your assistant principal at Sierra Vista K-8 School in Vacaville, CA! This is my 7th year as an administrator in VUSD and my 29th year as an educator. I am proud to work in an amazing district with inspiring people. I am thrilled and grateful to be starting my 6th year at Sierra Vista K-8. Sierra Vista K-8 is filled with amazing students, families who partner with us to support their child's education and a talented, dedicated, wonderful staff who endeavor to support our students while providing them a rigorous curriculum.
I am thrilled to begin this 2022-23 school year with our amazing students and staff! My why for what I do remains the same for me. My why is to inspire all students to achieve their goals by providing students with the tools to be successful and to build positive relationships with others.
Education is one of my passions and I am a lifelong learner. I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish and K-12 teaching credential from California State University Sacramento. I earned a Master of Arts in Education and Administrative Credential at Touro University. In 1991 I began my teaching career in Winters teaching a 4th-grade bilingual class. Before coming to Sierra Vista K-8, I spent 15 years teaching Spanish, P.E., and coaching at Willis Jepson Middle School. For 10 years I served as a teacher, athletic director, Coordinator of Student Services, and Dean of Learning Support at Buckingham Charter Magnet High School.
Another passion of mine is my family. My husband, Randy, and I have been married for 35 years and we have two phenomenal sons. Our oldest, Brady, is 26, and our younger son, Zach, is 24. In our free time, we enjoy long walks, traveling, great food, fellowship, and fun with friends and family including our dog, Max, and our cat, Mikey.
I can't wait to see you and talk with you in person and to partner with you to have an awe-inspiring school year for 2022-23!
In your service,
Toni S. Henry
